ADELE CALLISON Obituary
ADELE CALLISON
Adele Callison, 99, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Brookdale in McPherson with her family by her side. She was born August 4, 1925 in Canton, KS, the daughter of Charles Henry and Lucy (Hedinger) Terry.
Adele packed a lot into 99 years. Born and raised in Canton, she attended Canton Schools, then on to Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia, (now known as Emporia State University), majoring in Commerce. Then WWII broke out and she put her education on hold to work at Cessna in Wichita. She returned to school and graduated from Salt City Business College in Hutchinson.
She worked at various radio stations in Emporia and Wichita where she met and married Stan Gribble in 1955. The couple had two sons, Terry and Scott and eventually moved to Dodge City. The couple divorced after six years and Adele moved the boys to Canton to start their new life. She started working at Farmers Alliance in McPherson and worked there for almost 30 years, raising her boys with help from family and friends.
After many years, she met and married John Callison. They enjoyed 29 years together before John's death on May 12, 2024.
Her last year was spent at Brookdale in McPherson where she met many new friends, but was always eager to be back at home. She will be missed.
Adele is survived by her sons, Scott (Charlotte) Gribble of Prairie Village, KS and Terry (Rita) Gribble of Canton, KS; granddaughters, Angie (Cameron) Coleman of Chase, KS, Nicole (Steve) Ozmai of Broomfield, CO, Lindsay (Sean) Gribble of Wichita, KS and Paige (Tony) Hermes of Andale, KS; great grandchildren, Campbell, Cade, Chloe, Mila, Ella, Mason, Harper and Wade; niece, Sandra (Merlin) Dresher; and great niece, Stephanie Jones.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband, John; sister, Bernice Minear and grandson, Ryan Gribble.
