Beverly Arlene (Laird) Minnich, 85, of Moundridge, KS, passed away on January 3, 2026. She was born on June 23, 1940, in Altoona, PA, to Nellie Sylvia (Logue) Laird and Earl Spurgeon Laird.
Beverly's early years were marked by challenge. Raised in a large family and later in foster care, she found her home and calling in the Bellwood Church of the Brethren during her high school years, first in the home of Alma Cherry and later in the home of Jack and Verna Carlin. Beverly's children would grow to know the Carlins as their grandparents.
After graduation, Beverly joined Brethren Volunteer Service, serving at Williamson Road Church of the Brethren in Roanoke, VA. During training at New Windsor, MD, she met Dale, the love of her life. They married on June 16, 1962. Their journey took them to communities across the country and to Quito, Ecuador. Beverly served in many district and local church leadership roles as youth leader, child care organizer, disaster child care worker, and Sunday school teacher.
Beverly was an excellent baker, known for her homemade breads, pies, cookies, and candies. She was feisty, fiercely loyal, and loving. Above all, she embodied hospitality, ensuring that all who crossed her threshold knew they were valued and loved.
Beverly is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dale E. Minnich; three children: David W. Minnich (Lynette), Susan I. Williams (Mark), and Paul D. Ullom-Minnich (Marla); five granddaughters; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation is planned. Arrangements are being handled by Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge, KS.

Our deepest sympathy to Dale, Paul&Marla , David &Lynette , Mark &Sue and granddaughters ! My memories with Beverly started in high school, probably 11th grade . We spent many times together walking the streets of Bellwood and attending the church together. She was my maid of honor in my wedding almost 65 years ago . Have pictures of our families too when our kids were young.
Will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers! Love to all

I'm sorry for your loss. Beverly will be greatly missed. I'm glad to have known her. She gave Micah one-on-one Sunday school lessons when I preached at the Newton Church of the Brethren. She hosted church get-togethers. She organized the book table at The Gathering. I could count on seeing her and Dale at district events, and I always enjoyed talking to them. You all are in my prayers.
