DONALD CHESTER JAMES Donald Chester "Don" James, age 90, of Windom, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Don was born on May 28, 1935, in Osborne, Kansas, to David and Vernie James. He was the eldest of their children. On April 12, 1953, Don married Georgia Conway. Together they shared 34 years of love, raising a family and building a life together. Don and Georgia were blessed with four children: Donald E. James (Kerrilee) of McPherson, Debra Whitehill (Todd) of McPherson, Douglas James (Jeanette) of Kansas City, and Deanna Blackburn (Chapin) of Kansas City. Don's career as a truck driver spanned over five decades. He was a Master Truck Driver, achieving over 5 million accident-free miles and earning numerous driving awards. Some of Don's fondest memories were made toward the end of his career when he purchased his own semi and his beloved wife Georgia joined him on the road. Don was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Georgia; his parents, David and Vernie James; his grandson, Sterling Wade; his brothers, Richard and Delmar; and his sisters, Bonnie Mae, Marvel, Barb, and Wanda. He is survived by his sister, Jean James of Wichita. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held as a come-and-go gathering on Saturday, June 28th, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at 605 E. Euclid, McPherson, KS 67460. All who knew and loved Don are welcome to stop by and share memories. The family deeply appreciates the support and kindness extended during this time. No gifts or cards are requested.
