HARVEY STUCKY Harvey John Stucky, 96, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at his home in Moundridge, KS surrounded by his family. He was born in McPherson County, Kansas on October 7, 1928, to Benjamin B. and Anna (Behr) Stucky. On confession of his faith in the Lord as his Savior, he was baptized on June 13, 1943 and became a member of the Hopefield Mennonite Church. He later became a member of the Eden Mennonite Church. Harvey graduated from Moundridge High School in May of 1946. After high school, Harvey went to work on the family farm. Harvey married his high school sweetheart, Erna Goering, on March 23, 1948. Harvey and Erna shared 65 years together until she passed away on December 31, 2013. Harvey and Erna were blessed with two sons and three grandchildren. Harvey was a lifelong farmer. Along with crops, Harvey and Erna raised sheep, cattle, and hogs. In addition to full-time farming, Harvey worked multiple other jobs. In 1950-1955, Harvey worked at the Moundridge Creamery. After leaving the creamery, Harvey started his trucking business. Harvey hauled cattle and feed from 1955-1963. After losing his crops to hail in 1963, Harvey went to work at Hesston Corporation. He worked at Hesston Corporation from 1963 to 1972. Harvey left Hesston Corporation in 1972 and went back to farming and trucking. Harvey did not believe in retirement, but reluctantly retired from trucking at age 83 to care for his beloved wife, Erna. Harvey somehow always made time for his sons' sporting events and rarely missed a game. After his "retirement" from trucking, Harvey could always be found outside on his beloved farm doing one of his many projects. Harvey is survived by his two sons, Harvey Jon II (Marianne) Stucky of Moundridge, Kelly (Donna) Stucky of Moundridge; three grandchildren, Dustin Stucky and his son Brady, Christine (Joseph) Seale and their two children, David and Andrew, Krystle (Justin) Dalke and their son Jace. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Hulda Flickner, Esther Vogt, Edna Stucky, and Raymond Stucky. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Eden Mennonite Church, Moundridge. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 31 at the Moundridge Funeral Home.
