Geoffrey Brian Carlson, age 58, of Kennesaw, GA, passed away on December 4, 2025, at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA, after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula; his three children, Sebastian, Grace, and Simon; and his mother and sisters, Laurette, Katherine, and Meaghan. He was preceded in death by his father, Brian, and his brother, Christopher. Born in Indiana, PA, on October 17, 1967, to Brian and Laurette Schley Carlson, Geoff's family moved around the country during his early life because of his father's career with State Farm Insurance. Thanks to his truly outgoing nature, good humor, and athleticism, people immediately gravitated towards Geoff wherever he went. He carried this ability into his adult life as well, and he rarely went anywhere without making a friend. He met Paula Stets, the love of his life, in sixth grade at Seton School while living in Meadville, PA. He graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, FL, in 1986 and both he and Paula graduated from Florida State University in 1990. They married on January 2, 1993. After his graduation, Geoff built an accomplished, 35-year career with State Farm Insurance. He will be remembered professionally for his iron-clad integrity, his ability to weather and persevere in even the most challenging situations, and, mostly, for his steadfast leadership. But as someone of remarkable personal merit, including limitless inner strength, deep commitment and loyalty to his family, and the ability to do what was right even when it was not easy, his personal legacy is immeasurable. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 11, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta, GA. A reception will follow the mass in the Marist Hall, and a family graveside service will be held in Meadville, PA, on December 20, 2:30 p.m., at St. Brigid cemetery. Geoff will always be deeply loved and missed by his family and friends, and they will eternally be grateful for the rare gift that was knowing him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta, GA.
