Jacqueline "Jackie" Manahan Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Fry (Johnson) Manahan, 84, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia.

Jackie was born on December 14, 1940, in Rainelle, West Virginia, to William Halladay "Rip" Johnson and Wanda Weber Johnson. She married the love of her life, James "Jim" Edmund Manahan, on February 1, 1964, and they shared 35 years of marriage before his passing.

Jackie dedicated many years of service to the Cobb County Board of Education as a cafeteria employee and to the Cobb County Police Department as a School Crossing Guard. Jackie loved to travel, but some of her favorite memories were cruising the Marietta Square with Jim in his Mustang, as they listened to Jimmy Buffett. She spent countless hours attending her children's sporting events and mastered the concept of tailgating. Nothing brought her more joy or pride than supporting her children in all their pursuits; she celebrated every accomplishment, big or small, with unwavering love, and her influence helped them become who they are today.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents; and her sister, Diane (Johnson) Morrison.

Jackie is survived by her children: Todd Manahan (Suzanne) of Woodstock and Leslie Manahan of Lake Park; and by Natalie Griner of Lake Park, whom she lovingly referred to as "her other adopted daughter". She is also survived by her granddaughter, Lydia, along with numerous grand dogs, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dedicated caregivers, who will forever cherish her love and sense of humor.

A visitation for Jackie will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, 180 Church Street, Marietta. Following the visitation, Jackie will be laid to rest at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, with her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Agape Hospice of Metro Atlanta, the Dementia Society of America, or any nonprofit organization that supports the care and protection of animals, causes that were meaningful to Jackie.

Jackie's legacy of wit, strength, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
