Jeffrey Scott Fitzgerald, loving husband of Melanie (Odom) Fitzgerald and doting father to Crystil Fitzgerald passed away suddenly at his home in Acworth, Georgia on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
Jeffrey was born on June 3, 1967 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as the youngest child of John H. and Peggy (Brantley) Fitzgerald. Jeffrey's family moved several times during his childhood and he also called Cincinnati, OH, Rochester, NY, Bethel Park, PA and Marietta, GA home at various times. Jeffrey attended Bethel Park High School, graduated from Walton High School (1985), attended the University of Dayton, and graduated from Kennesaw State University.
Sanctuary in Him Church in Kennesaw, GA was Jeffrey's spiritual home, where he participated in the Men's Group, lead youth retreats and worshiped. Professionally, Jeffrey was involved in sales and insurance. In addition to his current employer, VIU by HUB, Jeffrey also worked for American Family Insurance, and Liberty Mutual among others.
Jeffrey was a deeply loved and loving family man. He was known as a kind, funny, affable and generous person, kept close friends for decades, and had a special affinity for Carolina Dogs, especially Radar and Dakota. Having been an excellent baseball player in high school, he continued his enjoyment of baseball as a Braves fan and was also a fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Atlanta Falcons.
In addition to Melanie and Crystil, Jeffrey is survived by his sisters, Cathy Muscato and Teresa Fitzgerald, their spouses, Craig Muscato and David Wofsy, his sister-in-law Darlene Odom and spouse, Wayne Odom, as well as future son-in-law Victor Izaguirre, nieces and nephews Nate Muscato, Ben Muscato, Grace Wofsy, Wayne Odom, III (Trey) and spouse Heather Odom, Daniel Odom and spouse Maddy Odom, and Ivy Odom.
Friends are invited to visitation at Sanctuary Church at 700 Mars Hill Road, Kennesaw GA at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 22, with services to follow at 3:00 PM and a reception will follow the service. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Saturday, August 23 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover, Alabama.
Jeffrey will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by many. Anyone wishing to make a contribution in Jeffrey's memory is encouraged to consider Must Ministries in Marietta, GA. Alternatively, floral tributes are warmly welcomed.
