Joel Lindsey Jr.

Mr. Joel Lindsey Jr., of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025. A graveside service for Mr. Lindsey will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia on October 24th at 9:00 AM, with a celebration of life visitation to be held at Mayes Ward Dobbins Macland Chapel on that evening from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Mr. Lindsey is preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. June L. Lindsey. Joel was the first in his family to attend college, graduating with the Georgia Tech class of '55. He was a proud Navy veteran and a leading aerospace engineer, holding multiple patents on designs created while in the Advanced Design Department at Lockheed Ga. His career successes were plentiful, but more importantly he was deeply loved and revered by his family. He is remembered as having a sincere and deep faith in our Lord Jesus. Joel was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, with whom he shared a lifetime of overseas travels and adventures. His grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as "Granjoe", are comforted that their grandparents, who were true soulmates, have now been reunited in Heaven. Granjoe will always be remembered for loving the Lord, his family, airplanes, and a good meal. He instilled values of respect, generosity, and integrity in all of his family members, never missing an opportunity to share a life lesson. He left his loved ones with many sweet and funny memories that they will cherish forever. His legacy is strong and will continue on through the many people whose lives he touched. Mr. Lindsey is survived by his children; David Lindsey (Heather), Joellyn Lindsey Stiles, and Tom Lindsey (Kim), his sister; Margaret Ingram (Larry), his grandchildren; Bobby Lindsey (Jennifer), John Lindsey (Lana), Shannon Lindsey, Brandon Stiles, Michael Stiles (Emily), Ashley Lindsey, Joseph Lindsey (Laurel) , and Allison Wilson (Matthew), and five great-grandchildren.
