Matthew Gripp Obituary

Matthew Henry Victor Gripp was born June 5, 1983 in Seattle Washington to Meg and Jack Gripp. On December 12, 2025 he was fully restored in spirit after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis. Matthew served 6 years in the Air Force in Ammunitions and got his BA in Graphic Design at Georgia State University. He was quite the character, a sense of humor that would make you question if certain lines are crossable. He truly knew no limits. And oh man was he stubborn. But one thing is for sure, he loved and was proud of his two sons, Jacob and Walt. He showed up the best way he could.

We will part with some idioms that only he can provide. "The bad is what provides contrast for the good." "Life is what happens when you are not looking." "That's why they give you two forks, in case you drop one." "It's like watching HBO, you never know what's on next." "He's a Gripp, we are just different." That you are. We are thankful for our faith in having confidence we will see you in heaven where we get to relive the moments you wanted to be part of and will now miss.

Rest easy Gripp.

Yesterday

I have several fond memories of Matt. I was stationed with him at Moody AFB. He was a very smart young man and full of life and always fun to be around. I had the pleasure to be his direct supervisor and he was always a good troop and made my job easier. Glad he is healed now in heaven. We will be praying for the family.

Matthew and I reconnected in 2018 when I visited Matthew we had many fun moments and also serious talks about him and his difficult life. He is and always will be a treasure to me as one if not a favorite cousin. I have had a great privilege to get to know him. Love you dear cousin. Cindy
