Rebecca Davis Braswell

Rebecca "Becky" Davis Braswell, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 73, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 6, 1952, at Crawford Long Hospital in Fulton County, Georgia, Becky was the youngest daughter of Marvin Asa Davis and Ollinween Barry Davis. She was raised with a strong foundation of faith, family, and service.

A graduate of Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA, Becky went on to earn her nursing degree in college. Her life's work reflected her heart for others-serving as a nurse, a home missionary with the North American Mission Board, and in church music ministry sales at Prism Music. Most recently, she retired as the school nurse at East Cobb Middle School, where she especially loved working with children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, Charlotte Davis Duerr.

Becky is the proud mother of her only child, daughter Barri Braswell Culpepper (Craig), and the loving grandmother of twin granddaughters, Caitlin Davis Culpepper and Carter Harris Culpepper. Her granddaughters were the light of her life and a constant source of joy. She also leaves behind her dearest friend, Mary Powell, who was like a sister to her, bringing joy, laughter, and many fun memories into her life. The care and support she provided throughout the final stages of Becky's life were selfless and the most sincere act of true friendship.

A longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta, Becky was active in both the music ministry and youth programs. In recent years, she joined Marietta First Baptist Church to worship alongside her family.

Becky will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, the deep love she had for her family and friends, and the grace with which she faced some of life's most difficult challenges. She touched many lives with her spirit and unwavering support. Though she will be deeply missed and forever loved, her legacy will continue through those who knew and loved her.

A service to celebrate Becky's life will be held on Sunday, November 16, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Marietta First Baptist Church, located at 148 Church Street, Marietta, GA 30060.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Chautauqua Hills Camp (formerly Camp Iron Bell), where Becky spent many cherished summers ministering to and working with youth.
