Kathleen Bayat Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce that on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, Kathleen Lynne Bayat passed away, surrounded by her daughters from a short battle with a very rare illness.
Kathy was born on Aug. 23, 1945, in Fort Eustis, Virginia, to Alan R. Friedman and Eleanor Joan Gately.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sayeh Bayat, Tina (Chris) Rose; her grandchildren, Hayden and Mackenzie Rose; her father; her siblings, Terry Friedman, Colleen Graham and Robert Graham. Kathy will also forever be remembered by her niece, nephews, extended family, dear friends and coworkers.
Kathy found the beauty of the Mendocino Coast and made this her home in 1984. She will most be recognized for her tireless dedication to her restaurant families, which included the Mendocino Hotel, Little River Inn and Silver's at the Wharf, respectively.
Kathy will most be remembered for her captivating smile and her welcoming and loving nature. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her dogs, in her garden, feeding her birds and reading.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Silvers at the Wharf, 32260 N. Harbor Dr., Fort Bragg.
In lieu of flowers, a Kathy Bayat Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at Savings Bank of Mendocino County. It would be Kathy's greatest pleasure to help support the youth of the community to further their education in the hospitality industry.

To Kathy's Family - We am so so very sorry for your loss. We only met your mother once, but she was SO KIND to our family. We are especially thankful to the warmth and friendship she gave to our granddaughter Taylor, who absolutely adored her, and worked for her. Sending love and strength to Tina and Cici on the loss of their beloved mother. Kathy was my dear, dear friend - her warmth, her humor, her captivating personality will be with me always. We shared many wonderful days (and laughs and tears) together in the last 20 years when she was here in Tucson visiting her Dad and also many wonderful days visiting her in Fort Bragg. So thankful we had time here in Tucson with her in December - it was a joy for all of us. Love you always, darling friend.
