Merced, California - Allen passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 27, 2022, three days shy of his 80th birthday. Born in San Raphael, CA, Allen spent his early years growing up and attending parochial school in Mill Valley, CA. where he had fond memories riding his bicycle to the top of Mt. Tamalpias. After his parents moved to Merced, CA, Allen attended Our Lady of Mercy School, graduated from Merced High School and Merced College, and later attended San Jose State University. Allen proudly served in the United States Air Force where most of his service was spent stationed in Europe.
Allen had a gentle, loving, and jovial personality and his passion was always golf. Some of his favorite golfing memories included his travels while playing on the Merced High School Varsity Golf Team and later playing golf in Germany and France while serving in the United States Air Force. Allen spent most of his career days working in Banking Management and Real Estate. Allen was a true Californian and lived in Mill Valley, Santa Barbara, Vallejo, Sacramento, Turlock, and Merced.
Allen was preceded in death by his father Anthony Sousa. He is survived by his loved ones Belma Sousa
(Mother), Robert Sousa (Brother), Darlene Azevedo (Daughter) and Vivian Voss (Granddaughter).
Allen will be laid to rest at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA. The service will be limited to family. Allen loved animals and children, so if you would like to donate in his memory, some non-profit suggestions are the ASPCA (aspca.org) supporting animals in distress, Horseplay Youth Inc. (horseplayyouth.org) supporting public school children for social and emotional learning with equine friends and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).
