Benjamin Balaba Obituary
passed away at his home in Sacramento on Friday, August 10, 2007 at the age of 48. Ben was a man with many talents. He enjoyed
working on Computers and he worked in construction most of his life. Ben enjoyed Nascar Racing, listening to music, fishing or just spending time with friends, of which he had many.
Ben was preceded in death by his father Ignacio Balaba, Jr., his sister Kelly Balaba, Ben is survived by his step-Mother Toch balaba and his uncle Moss of Scramento. His mother Carmen and step-father James Minnear of Merced. Brother Dave Balaba of Sacramento, sister Teri Barnett of Merced, Brother Mike Minnear of Tracy, CA and brother Robert Minnear of Chowchilla. Ben is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and good friends. He is loved and will be missed by all. Services for Ben are pending.
Arrangements are under the direction of Whitton Family Funeral Service in Merced.

To the Balaba Family, my prayers are with you. It has been a long time
since the playground at St. Anne's, where Benny and Jeri and I used to "run" the playground - then life takes us down different paths and
years go by without seeing each other and for whatever reason one
thinks of those good times and the people known as "friend" and one
wonders how they are doing... I will always remember Ben - my friend
and one of my "bro's" from the 'hood.

It has been a very long time since those childhood school days of St. Anne's. Benny was a wonderful classmate; full of humor and comical insight. My condolences to the family and community whose lives he enriched.
