David Fain Obituary

David A. Fain, 78, resident of Merced for 64 years passed away at his home in Merced, California on October 20, 2008. David was born on February 17, 1931 in Keota, Oklahoma. David went to Fortsmith Arkansas Elementary School and Dos Palos High School, he served his Country proudly by serving the United States Air Force. He had his own trucking company and drove trucks most of his life, David was a hard worker and a good provider for his family.
David was a happy, go lucky, very out going person, he had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He loved telling tall tales and kept us all entertained. David loved fishing and enjoyed spending time on their houseboat. He was an avid reader.
David was preceded in death by his father David Maston Fain, his mother Ora Alice Fain, his sister Dolly Fain Gamel and his son Carlos David Fain.
David is survived by his loving wife Balbina Fain of Merced, his daughter Evelyn Avila of Merced and his son Douglas Fain and his wife Sandy of Atwater. Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his sisters Robbie and her husband Bill Baker of Dos Palos, Vera Rilery of Dos Palos, Rosa Marie Wiley of Los Banos, his brothers Everett Jacob Flain and his wife Sheila of England Bedford and Raymond Harold Fain and his wife Anita Fain in Petersburg, Illinois.
Visitation for David will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Merced with Pastor Ralph Etharidge officiating the services.
David was our rock and here, he will be dearly missed, but always in our hearts.
All funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced, California.

Grandpa i just wanted to let you know that i love you sooo much, and regrete every moment that we dident spend together. It will never be the same without you here,but ill take care of grandma and do as much as i can for her.i love you and so glad that you got to be apart of my son Ericks life.....ill keep your memory with me everyday and prey every night....I LOVE YOU G-PA!!!!!!

Uncle Dave thanks for all the wonderful memories. You leave me with only good thoughts and loving experiences from our Holiday spent in Oregon as a child, to my adult life being able to talk and laugh with you. My dearest condolences to Aunt Bina, Evelyn, Doug, and the entire family
