Delpha Andrews Obituary
Delpha moved from Fresno to Dos Palos with her parents in the 1940's, where she attended Elementary school and graduated from the Dos Palos High School in 1949. She attended Central California Commercial College in Fresno, California and Merced College in Merced. Her parents had businesses in Dos Palos, Ca where they owned the Bronc's Café from 1940 until 1946. Her mother and stepfather owned the Cain Electric and Gift Shop from 1946 until 1950.
In 1960, she moved to Merced and was employed by Farmer's Insurance for 26 _ years, retiring as a Manager in 1987.
She was an avid baseball fan, especially the Atlanta Braves. She loved animals, especially dogs. Her yard was her pride and joy as she loved flowers. She loved family get togethers and her nieces were very special to her.
She was a member of the Merced County Genealogical Society and had traced all of her family in her genealogy research. She produced a hard bound book on one of her surnames and had met many relatives through her research.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church in Dos Palos, California since 1950.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everett Green; mother, Vera Cain; sister, Sharon Baptista and sister, Deborah Bland.
Delpha is survived by her two sons, Gary Andrews of Merced, California and Tom (Darlene) Andrews of Spokane, Washington; brother, Harold Green of Glendale, Arizona; granddaughter, Laura Paszek of Aurora, Illinois; two great grandchildren, Alyssa Paszek and Avery Paszek of Morris, Illinois; nieces and Nephews, Sandra (Alan) Young of Riverside, California, Shirley (Dennis) Austin of Vista, California, Sherilyn (David) Jameson of St. College, Pennsylvania, Richard (Rhonda) Green of Laurel, Mississippi, Tawnya (Aric) McCullough of Dos Palos, California, Tim (Noel) Bland of Dos Palos, California, Andy Bland of Dos Palos, California and a special brother-in-law, Joe Bland of Dos Palos, California.
Burial will be in the Winton District Cemetery. No services are planned per Delpha's request.
Memorial contributions can be made to the SPCA 1021 East Childs Avenue Merced, California 95341 or to the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
