Lillian J. Mello-La Pres, 88, of San Jose, California passed peacefully in her sleep on December 28th 2018 with her devoted husband of 28 years, Anthony J. La Pres by her side.
Lillian loved to dance, sew, crochet and knit and was a member of many charitable organizations including: St. Martin of Tours church, Ladies Guild and Sewing Guild as well as the American Legion Auxiliary Post 419, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 8, Women of the Moose Post 1283, Portuguese Fraternal Society of America, I.C.F. Branch 391 and the Sizzling Seniors Dance/Aerobics of Santa Clara.
Lillian was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her seven children Louis F. Mello, her son Patrick Mello, stepson Andre La Pres, grandchild Kathleen La Pres and sister Diolinda Cabral.
She is survived by her children: Linda Henderson, Louis Mello, James Mello, Janette Mello, Daniel Mello, Michelle Mello and step children, Anthony Drew La Pres, Lynette Hoelscher, Pierre La Pres, Judette McMahon, Leigh La Pres and sister Florence Gianonne.
Lillian was also a proud grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Per Lillian's wishes, in lieu of sending flowers please donate to any of the following organizations: American Legion Auxiliary Post 419, Hospitalized Veterans, St Vincent de Paul Society, St. Martin's Food Box and The Salvation Army.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours church on January 26th 2019 at 9:30 am with a reception immediately following.
