Marcos Chema Arroyo, 41, Merced, died last week at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, California.
Marcos was born Nov. 17, 1974, in Merced, CA. and was a lifelong area resident. He worked in the real estate industry, was a volunteer youth soccer and baseball coach for his children, and a devote Catholic who attended St. Patrick's parish. His passion for soccer was like no other. He played on team USA, at age 15, traveled throughout Europe and set the record for most goals scored in the Dana Cup. He played on teams locally and never missed a Real Madrid or Barcelona soccer game on TV. Soccer was his life. He was a graduate of Fresno State University, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Criminology, in May 2004. Marcos was a very caring and welcoming person, who was always willing to help anyone in any way that he could, putting others before himself. He was a wonderful father, going above and beyond for his children. Some of their fondest memories include family vacations to waterparks, Disneyland, Universal Studios, LEGOLAND, Great America, San Luis Obispo, the surrounding beach towns and Washington D.C. We lovingly called him "Disneyland Dad." Marcos was a very caring brother who was so proud of his siblings and their accomplishments. He was also a very loving son, always concerned for the wellbeing of his parents. He lived for others.
He is survived by his children, daughter Talia Esperanza, 11 and son Talin Marcos, 7. His children were his life, best friends and true loves. He is also survived by his father and mother, Joe and Dora Arroyo, two younger sisters, Melissa Davis and Veronica Chamberlain, his younger brother, Joe Arroyo III, brothers-in-law, Bryan Davis and Lee Chamberlain, niece Tayler Marie Chamberlain, nephews, Colt and Maverick Chamberlain and Cruz and Xavier Davis and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Viewing and Rosary will be held from 4-8 p.m., Friday, June. 24, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
Mass will begin be 9 a.m. Saturday, June 25 at St. Patricks' Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Merced.

I miss you calling me just about every day. I miss our talks, your guidance, how you listened even when I should have been, I miss your telling me that Cruz threatens with knuckle sandwiches right in the kisser because of how I joke with him.
