Patricia Canepa Obituary
October 27, 1932 - February 19, 2023
Merced, California - It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Canepa announces her passing on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the age of 90 years.
Patricia was born in Terra Bella, California in 1932, where she spent her early years growing up, attending elementary school and middle school there. At the end of middle school, she and her family moved to Tulare, California, where she attended high school at Tulare High School. She went on to
graduate from San Jose State, where she was recruited to come to Merced to begin her teaching career. Patricia taught at Merced High School for 30 years, as well as teaching classes at Merced College. She coached tennis, was a den mother to several cohorts of cub scouts, and was a talented artist. Patricia was preceded by her husband Albert, and she is survived by her three sons and her grandchildren.
A service for Patricia will be held at the chapel at the Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home in Merced on Saturday, March 18th at 10:00 am.

I had the honor of having both, Mr Canepa and Mrs Canepa as my teacher at Merced High. They were adored by me Such great teachers and made learning such fun, especially Mr Canepa Simply loved them.

Patricia was my den mother when I was in cub scouts. First thing she had us scouts build was a little" scout bench" which we used to sit on during our meetings. Patricia had a good heart!

How sadden I am to read the passing of my favorite teacher. I was fortunate to have Mrs Canepa the first year she taught P E at MUHS. I had so much respect for her. My prayers are for each of her children and grandchildren. May the Lord bless each of you with strength and love during this hard time.
