Shane DeBusk Obituary

Shane Adam DeBusk
August 15, 1974 - December 31, 2013
Born in Ridgecrest, CA and passed away in Merced, CA after an extended illness.  Shane resided in Atwater most of his life.  He graduated from AHS in 1991.  Over the years he was employed as a truck driver, welder and handyman until his health prevented him from working.
He leaves his parents, Rick and Carolyn Blackwell of Atwater.  Oscar and Evelyn DeBusk of Oregon.  His children, whom he loved very much, Sarah and Cody DeBusk of Oregon.  Special friend Leighanne Hardin and her children Cierra Hardin and Kailee Forbus.  He will long be loved and never forgotten.  He also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss that smile.  Shane was also fortunate to have made many lifelong friendships which gave him comfort in his last days along with his loving family. Additionally he leaves his Grandparents, John and Virginia Blackwell of Sacramento and Geneva Bettis of Atwater.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Frank Bettis, Estelle DeBusk, grandmother and James DeBusk, grandfather.
In healthier days, Shane loved to read, work with tools, tinker with old cars and play his guitar.  He could repair just about anything.  He loved his family and being with them at the end was a special blessing.
Shane requested a simple Life Celebration where family and friends can gather and share good memories.  Please join us on January 11th.  Contact us at [email protected] for more information.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Rick and Carolyn to help with memorial expenses.

Rick, Carolyn & Family,
My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. Shane was a wonderful man whom I had the pleasure of spending 6 years of my life with. I am sad I did not get to see him in the past 16 years and was trying so hard to make it home to see him before he passed but I am very grateful I was able to talk with him on the phone back in June and Aug . I love you all and still consider you family, so if there is anything I can do for you while I am home please do not hesitate to ask. RIP Shane! We shall meet again my friend!
