Suleman Choudhry Obituary

Suleman Ali Choudhry
August 11, 1996 - May 7, 2016
Our son, Suleman Ali Choudhry, passed away in San Diego on 5/7/2016 due to a severe brain and head injury which resulted from a car accident.  Suleman was a passenger in the car.  Suleman and his friend, the driver, were on their way to meet other friends at a restaurant to break fast, as some of the students were fasting.  There was already an accident on the freeway and his friend, the driver, tried to steer away from the accident.  Unfortunately, the car hydroplaned and Suleman's side of the car was hit by two cars.  Suleman had his seat belt on, everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing, unfortunately it ended in tragedy.
Suleman was a wonderful son, brother, friend, and human being. He was born and raised in Merced, CA, graduating from Buhach Colony High School as Class Valedictorian.  He was studying at UCSD, in his second year of a Biomedical Engineering Degree, and he was volunteering at the UCSD Autism Center for Excellence, wanting to help others who were dealing with this particular challenge in life as his younger brother also has severe Autism.  We are proud to be Suleman's parents as he was a wonderful human being with a strong faith, love of humanity and joy of life.  UCSD is going to dedicate this year's robot class exhibition on June 7th to Suleman, and June 2nd at Buhach Colony highschool in Atwater there is going to be a moment of silence, for his memory.
We would like to thank all our family, friends, and community for their love, support, and kindness during this difficult time.  We cannot express how much we appreciate everyone's well wishes.

I don't know your son or your family, but this is very sad. It sounds like your son was a wonderful and special young man. I am very sorry for your loss and wish you comfort and peace at this time.

Suleman was a student of mine at Buhach Colony during his senior year. I also had the honor and privilege of sharing the stage with him during his amazing graduation speech. Suleman was a brilliant, clever and kind young man who was an absolute delight to have in class. I am devastated by his passing and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. It was truly an honor to know Suleman and to play a role in his life.
