Akiko Kikuchi
Nov. 8, 1929 - March 26, 2007With great sadness and loss, Akiko passed away unexpectedly on March 26, 2007 with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she will always be remembered in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, George, of nearly 50 years, son Wayne (Corinne), daughters Linda and Debbie (Michael) and grandchildren, Katie, Taylor, Brandon, Nicky and Christopher. She is also survived by her brother, Yasuhiro (Suzue) Saigo, sisters-in-law, Yaeko Kaneko and Carolyn Sakae and numerous nieces and nephews.Akiko was born in Yokohama, Japan and settled in California in 1953 where she met her husband and married in 1957. They settled in San Jose to raise a family.She will always be remembered for her graciousness, humbleness and devotion towards family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and frequently could be found watching her grandchildren's basketball games. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and her volunteer work at Yu-Ai Kai.A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 566 N. 5th St., San Jose.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
