Akiko Yoshioka Obituary

Akiko Kogura Yoshioka 11/30/1928 – 1/8/2008 Long time resident of San Jose, California, Akiko passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's on January 8, 2008 at age 79. She was the beloved wife for 56 years of the late Eddie. Survived by her children Ronald (Karen), Michael, Nancy (Richard) Kerbel, Jeffrey, Lynda Yoshioka-Drennan, her grandchildren Eddie Kerbel, Amanda Drennan, Kathryn Drennan, Lauren Yoshioka and Andrew Yoshioka. Sister of Tadao (Grace), Kazuko (Mits) Kumamoto, James (Tee), Chiye (Herb) Takeda, William, Frances (Henry) Watanabe and Albert (Janice) Kogura. Akiko was born and raised in the Santa Clara Valley. She loved reading mysteries, playing golf, going to Reno, throwing parties, watching her grandkids play sports and spending time with her family and friends. She was truly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service was held on Sunday, January 20, 2008 at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin. The family requests any donations to be sent to the San Jose JACL, 565 N. Fifth Street, San Jose, CA 95112, in memory of Akiko Yoshioka. Arrangements by Willow Glen Funeral Home.
