Resident of San Jose, CA
Anne Marie passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She contracted pneumonia in May and had a difficult time shaking it. We recently celebrated a birthday party barbecue with her beloved ribs just days before.
Originally, from Omaha, Nebraska, she married a decorated war veteran, Joseph S. Gozzo in October, 1948. They had six children. In 1965 they relocated the family to San Jose to pursue professional opportunities.
Anne Marie was a very loving mother and person in general. She always had concern for people proven by all of her project donations, along with loving concern for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was well-known for her cooking expertise. Throughout her life, family and friends always relished in the culinary creations she would present for our enjoyment. She was adept at cooking enmasse. Entrees like lasagna, pasta con sugo, eggplant parmesan, chicken picatta, homemade pizza, etc. Her desserts were famous, too. She could whip up her treasured coffee cake impromptu. For special occasions: cannoli, eclairs, cream puffs, and everyone's favorite - cinnamon rolls!
A true San Jose Sharks fan, everyone knew not to interrupt her when a game was on. Anne Marie cherished her faith, fully enjoying her home visits with the priest and Eucharistic ministers.
Anne Marie was predeceased by husband Joseph (1996). She is survived by daughter Connie (Lamont) Baker, son Tom (Marie) Gozzo, son Joseph (Laura) Gozzo, daughter Linda (Les- predeceased) Campbell, son Frank (Deloyce) Gozzo, daughter Carolyn (Jaime) Vargas, and many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Rosary Service Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. at LIMA-CAMPAGNA-ALAMEDA MISSION CHAPEL, 600 S. Second Street, San Jose, with Visitation beginning at 5:00PM. Funeral Mass Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at ST. JULIE BILLIART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 366 St. Julie Drive, San Jose. Interment immediately following to Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose.

I have many fond memories of my aunt, Anne Marie Gozzo. Having lived three doors away from each other, our families grew up together until Anne's family moved to California. It was a big adjustment when they relocated. Anne watched over us quite often during those early years. I am not sure how she tolerated all of us. Anne was a kind and loving person, a great cook and served as a role model for me and my siblings. My condolences to the family. She will be missed.
