Argero Chrisafis Obituary

Argero "Argie" Chrisafis
January 16, 1920 - December 2, 2021
Resident of San Carlos
It's with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mom, Thea, YiaYia, great YiaYia, cousin and friend, Argero 'Argie' Chrisafis. The family's sadness is matched with immense gratitude for the incredible blessing of having 101 years with Argie. Argie is preceded in death by: the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Andrew (or as she liked to call him "my Andy"); sister and brother-in-law Mary and Lanthey Pepares; brother John Kanakaris; and, daughter Demie Alevizos. She is survived by her sister-in-law Anna Kanakaris and her children: son-in-law Chris Alevizos; daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Lonnie Frangadakis; and, daughter and son-in-law Joanne and Mike Bouzeneris. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren: Maria Keratzides and husband Andrew Keratzides; Alex Frangadakis and wife Dr. Jackie Botros Frangadakis; Andrea Frangadakis; Anastacia and Adrianna Bouzeneris; as well as her great grandchildren Alexia and Sophia Keratzides, and Isabelle and Lucas Frangadakis.
Argie had a keen eye and passion for aesthetics - a trait that was recognized by all who knew her. Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts to Greek immigrants George and Eleni Kanakaris, Argie's humble beginnings inspired her professional pursuits in beauty and luxury. After graduating from the Wilfred Academy in Boston, Argie and her family moved to New York where she worked as a 'stylist to the stars.' Argie reminisced fondly and loved sharing memories of her time working with the Rockettes in Rockefeller Plaza.
It was in NY that Argie met Andy, the love of her life, and they began their 65 year love affair. Argie and Andy were engaged to be married as Andy was drafted into the Army in 1942. Andy wrote to Argie every day for 3 years until he returned home. They were married on September 23rd, 1945.
After the birth of their first daughter, Demie, Argie and Andy headed West to San Mateo, CA. Together, Andy and Argie raised their 3 daughters with unconditional love and commitment to family and faith. Argie was actively involved in the Greek Orthodox Church and community: a parishioner and founding member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Belmont and life-long member of The Philoptochos Society and The Daughters of Penelope.
Argie passed away peacefully in the home she loved and lived in for 62 years with family. The family takes great comfort in knowing that Argie is now with 'her Andy' and all her loved ones who have been patiently waiting for her.
