Beth Skarshaug Obituary
Resident of San Jose
Jan. 23, 1918-Oct. 27, 2010
Lifted up in the gentle embrace of angels, Beth Caroline Stephenson Skarshaug was drawn into the heaven of her faith on October 27, 2010. Born on January 23, 1918 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Wade and Floy Stephenson she grew up with five siblings. Beth met her husband, Nordahl H. Skarshaug on a blind date. They married in 1942 moving to Richland, Washington.
Beth accomplished many years of volunteer work for the Girl Scouts of America, The League of Women Voters and various church groups. Nordy and Beth were members of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in San Jose since 1970, taking part in many church activities. Nordy preceded Beth in death in 1995. Beth continued to enjoy traveling as she had done with her husband for many years. Finding laughter and companionship with family and friends, she lived comfortably and happy in her final years. Her travels are over now, her last trip taking her to eternal rest.
Survived by her daughters Debora (Michael) Crowley and Rebecca (Troy) Fisher, and grandchildren Evan, Marc, Erin and Amy. Beth's eight great-grandchildren will miss their Bestamor, who adored each of them.
A Memorial and Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2pm at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, 5100 Camden Avenue, San Jose. Private entombment was held at Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose. The family respectfully requests memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.

I'm so sorry we missed meeting you, Mrs. Skarshaug. Hugh Stephenson's 5th great grandson, Steve Stephenson, and my FIL, lived over by Los Gatos/Almaden the whole time you were in San Jose. I'll meet you in heaven some day, by God's great grace, and we'll have a great time talking about everything!
