Jan. 21, 1924 - March 21, 2006Surrounded by her loving family, Bonita passed away peacefully at the age of 82 in her daughter's home in Sonora, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, sister Mae, and brothers Alan and Raymond. She is survived by her daughter Diann and her grandsons Jeff, Kevin and Loren with wives Madeline, Jessica and Lorie, and her great-grandchildren Danyelle, Kyle and Caden. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Dell and his wife Mickey, sisters-in-law Catherine, Marydelle and Lois, as well as numerous nephews and nieces: Steve and Carla, Terry and Debbie, Chuck and Theresa, Caryn and Pat, Patty and John, Dick and Darlene, Dixie and Russell, Gloria and Wayne, Kay and Wayne, June and Tom, Donald, Joyce, Laddie (Bud), Pat, and Dick.Bonita was born on the family farm in Belgrade, Minnesota as one of four children of Christ and Nettie Christopherson, who had immigrated to America from Norway in 1864. She met her husband Gerald at a young age, and had their daughter Diann in 1940. In 1956, she moved with her family to Santa Clara, California, where she operated her own interior decorating business for many years. Her interest in style and design stayed with her throughout her life, and she stayed busy by applying her impeccable taste both to projects in her own home and to those of family and friends. She stayed active until shortly before her death, and played an important role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom she spent a lot of time. Bonita had a wonderful sense of humor, and could light up a room with her mere presence. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and dinner honoring Bonita at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 12770 Saratoga Avenue, Saratoga, CA 95070 on April 22, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2065 West El Camino Real, Suite C, Mountain View, CA 94040.
