Carl A. Sabatino
Passed away in his sleep in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 1, 2006. He was 71 years young. Carl was, until four years ago, a resident of San Jose, California. Carl stayed on in Nevada in order to help his family with their loss.Carl attended San Jose High School, and attended college in the area. Baseball was one of his passions, and he enjoyed spending time playing semi-professional ball in his younger days. Carl was a real estate broker. He also enjoyed several trips to "Spring Training" in Arizona, and even some camping trips in the Nevada wilderness.Carl Sabatino was very instrumental in helping his daughter Theresa establish The HeartWorks Family Center, and a school of early childhood education bearing his late wife's name. This center based in Las Vegas, is a social service organization that helps children and families in need. Mr. Sabatino's big heart helps over seventy families each week. He loves children and enjoyed stopping by the center frequently to hug the children, and "torture" the staff! In September 2006, the first Carl A. Sabatino Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a child who would be unable to attend the center without it. That will make him happy.Mr. Sabatino loves his family dearly, and they him. He leaves behind, his much-loved sisters Nell, Mary, Lucy, Angie, and Sandy who will miss him very much.Carl also leaves his four children, Theresa, Carl Jr., Michael, and Patricia, and their families. His first child - a boy, Angelo- was stillborn, but remains in his heart, and soul forever. Nicholas, his grandson will always be his pride and joy.Carl Sabatino also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all who mean so much. So sorry to hear about Carl's passing too late. I use to love swing dancing with him at 12th street. He was a good dancer.
