Wow! I was touched by this story. At noon today, Sunday Aug 17th I was watching the NGC national geographic channel and it was showing the zoo tiger escape story that happened in San Fran 2007 X Mas. It was a story that touched my heart and introduced me to Carlos. I was so touched by this story I wanted to send my sondolences to the Sousa Family! I am from southern California and I just found out about this. You know how it is on X Mas, you are full of visitors of family and friends and fun. I dont watch tv during this time so I did not know about this. I am barely finding out about it. Anyways, I will keep the Sousa familhy in my prayers and hold on!!

The last time I saw Carlos was in March at Jennifer's 1st Birthday party. When I saw him I didn't even recognize him. He had grown so tall and had become such a handsome young man. He was always smiling and so sweet. This is a tragedy and not a day goes by that I do not think about him and his family. May the Lord bless you all in this time of sorrow. I love you.

From the moment i heard what happened, my eyes filled with tears! Theres nothing i can say to make things better, but all i know is hes sleeping and not suffering. I never knew him, but i wish i did i have cousins and friends that went to school with him. Im sure you his family will miss him dearly and always have him in your hearts and memories.

I remember Carlos always waiting inside this white car in the early mornings, waiting for the school bus. You'd always be a gentleman and let the girls climb on board first. With these small gestures you'd made an impact in my heart because you where well-mannered and on occasions I would notice you wearing these small ponytails designed on your hair. You where an awesome individual, and my greatest regret was being reluctant in talking to you. You're a portrayal of how sudden people can be taken away from us. If it's just by taking a step forward or not.
I hope your next life will be more extensive than the one you've left behind unfinished.

i never knew carlos sousa but it was all over the news and i couldnt but help feel the sorrow for him and his family! i was always told being here on earth is fake, that its all a gimic were visitors here this is not our home; our home is on the other side where the real party starts and where we began to live in an eternity of happiness! carlos im sure is having a blast and watching over his loved ones and family and friends as well!! so remember the good times you had, remember him how he would of wanted you to remember him. and from the sounds of it, he was a pretty awsome guy! and will remain a heroe in everyones hearts!! I never had the HONOR of knowing your precious Carlos, and I find myself wishing that I had, but my duaghter said she had him in a couple of classes at Piedmont HS (she was one of the fortunate ones)Carlos has been SOOO heavy on my heart since this happened. I miss you so much Carlos Eduardo!!! I cant believe you are gone. Its been over 3 weeks since you were taken from us, and I still cant get over it that you are gone from this earth. A lump in my throat forms everytime I hear of what happened. I didn't know Carlos, but just looking at his pictures and reading what his loved ones say of him tells me who he was. I know the pain will stay for a long while, but the sweet memories will help you heal. Let the Lord help you heal, tell him of your pain and sorrow and He will take it all away. I never had an opportunity to meet Carlos but through the news of his death. He is a beautiful individual, this is apparent by the expressions of love I have read about him in both the new reports and also expressed from you his loved ones... May you find Peace in your healing from this loss. Most of all, my wish for you is the return of the Joy you have long shared in love for Carlos. In time, Joy will become possible and return to you when hearing his name, seeing his photo, and in the future anniversies of his passing. After yesterday attending the funeral i know now that Carlos is up in heaven on the Lords side. The lights turning off and on while the Priest was giving the short mass i felt it was him letting us know of his presence. We were all tripping about the lights goin off and on but i think that is him letting us know he is ok. His soul is now in heaven lookin over his loved ones. My sympathy goes out to the parents of Carlos, He was like a little brother to me always smiling and acting all shy when he came over. My brother and him are very good friends and I still wake up with a bubble in my throat thinking about how this could happen to such a wonderful young man. I watched him develope from a little/big boy into a young hansome man and always knew he was going to be someone special. The Lord chose him to be a HERO which is exactly his title. We are so sorry for the loss of you beautiful son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend. It is so difficult to understand why someone so young is taken away. We pray that as each day passes you will find peace in knowing that Carlos had a greater purpose. He passed as a true HERO. He paid the ultimate sacrifice to save the lives of others and for that he will spend all eternity beside God who will care for him.
I will pray for your family day in and day out to help you get through this difficult time.

Just like many others, I am a stranger to you and your family yet I feel a sence of loss and the need to express sympathy for all of you. I am so sorry for that this has happended to all of you. Carlos is a cousin of mine. He was a good person, with a BIG heart. He will be deeply missed by all of our family and by so many others. Due to this heroic nature his life was cut short and now we (his family) are left to mourn. Rest in peace Carlos!
