Carolyn Shade

On September 6, 2023, Carolyn Lee Shade passed on at 82 years of age.As a teen, she graduated from Sequoia High in Redwood City, and following her passion to learn, received her bachelor's in political science, from Notre Dame de Namur at 41 years of age. Carolyn managed the office of the plumbing and heating company that she and her husband owned. After that she managed an accounting team for a pharmaceutical company; managed an Ethan Allen store, and later became a successful realtor.Carolyn loved her family, friends, home and community. Giving of her time and of herself came naturally to her. Carolyn excelled as a wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and friend.Despite always working, Carolyn made time to teach sewing for the Pescadero-LaHonda 4-H and also for local adults in the San Mateo Adult learning program. Carolyn was proud of being a member of the San MateoCounty Grand Jury and being an officer for PMAC, Pescadero's municipal council.Carolyn will be deeply missed. The way she cared for people, her intelligence, sense of humor and wonderfully warm smile will be remembered by family and friends.Perhaps her grandson said it best, "Grandma gets an A+ in this life. She was a success at all that she wanted to do and loved by all."
