Catherine Linda Boicelli
REDWOOD CITY - Catherine (Cathy) Linda Boicelli died Friday, March 15, 2013, at Stanford Hospital in Stanford, CA., after a fearless battle with cancer, in the company of her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and Nonni.
Cathy was 65, born July 1, 1947, in San Francisco, CA. Her parents were the late Michael Susoff and Ruth Lafontaine of San Mateo. Cathy received a degree from San Francisco State University. Her career as a teacher spanned 35 successful years starting at Menlo Presbyterian as a Preschool teacher and ending in retirement from Kennedy Middle School where she taught Science and Language Arts. She loved her career, her students and she touched the lives of many people during her life.
Cathy leaves behind her teenage sweetheart and husband of 45 years, Dan S. Boicelli. She is also survived by her son, Tim; daughter Rebecca; grandson, Luciano; her son Dan and his wife, Stefanie; granddaughter, Madeline, all from Redwood City.
Cathy lived with her husband, Dan, in Menlo Park for 37 years and most recently, as a retired couple in The Sea Ranch. She loved being at her home in The Sea Ranch. She loved to be on the coast, surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, which is true to her personality: calm, determined, and warm. She loved to quilt in her spare time and sharpen her knowledge in areas like science and wildlife. Anyone who had a comment to make about Cathy would say, "She was smart, witty, generous and would walk through fire for her family." Cathy loved her two dogs, Pheobe and Allen.
SERVICES: There will be a memorial service at a later time for close family members and Cathy's dearest friends and teachers. If desired, donations may be made in her honor to The American Cancer Society.
