Hi Dak, I can't believe it's already been a year since you left us. I remember the day like it was yesterday. Everything felt so surreal... and sometimes still does when I think about it too much. Our solace is that you're in a better place now - without pain and suffering. And with Sunny! :) Hope you two are taking good care of each other and know that we love and miss you. Thanks for always reminding us you're still around. :) Miss you and until we meet again...

As fast as an eye can blink, a year has gone by since you have left us and just as fast, it only feels like it was yesterday.
While we've been moving forward with our lives without you here; we all remember who you were, your unyielding humility, your irreproachable character and everything you exemplified can not and will not ever be forgotten.
We all miss you dearly Dak. Not a day has gone by that we do not think of you and our memories will never dwindle as we all hold you close to our hearts.
Rest in peace my brother.

Dak taught me what it means to be more dependable , trustworthy, honorable , caring...and the list goes on and on. After meeting Vicki and Frank , I realized this is where Dak got it from. In a sense what Vicki and Frank instilled in Dak radiated to all his friends....making each of us a better person. Dak....you are missed more today than the day god called you to his side. Vicki and Frank, I don't think I've ever meant this more .....THANK YOU.

Dak, it's been a year since you have passed, but I thank you for visiting me through various other ways... I miss you deeply & think about you often. Knowing your strength, your courage and humbleness, I thank you for giving me the strength, knowing that anything can be possible. Thank you for watching out for us and guiding us through lifes many obstacles. I miss your beautiful blue eyes and your contagious personality. I miss the genuine person that you are, as you were one of few that I trusted.

To the Krause Family... I considered Dak to be a great friend and someone I very much enjoyed growing up with. My memories with him are still fresh and he will always be the kind person I knew him to be. My prayers and thoughts are with you all.

I did not know Dak but knew of him from his Aunt Laura Williamson who is a good friend of mine
Laura kept me updated on Dak's condition from the time his tumor was discovered to the end.
I now he will be missed by everyone
He was a courageous young man who was to young to die
I will keep him in my prayers to St. Theresa..

Dak I know you know how much I envy your strength and your courage. Most people go through life not appreciating all the beautiful things around them. But you did. For someone so great to be so humble makes me wonder how come we all can't be like you. Going through all the problems in my life I'm glad I had you there beside me to comfort me and most of all my family. I can't find the right words to describe how I feel to lose someone so special. I can only imagine how your family must feel. I wish that I could've hugged you tighter when I told you I loved you the week before. I'm not mad at you for leaving, but I am mad that I can't have you there behind me to push me when I want to give up. You better recognize my face when I see you again. I know you're just getting the game of dominos ready for us when we get up there. We'll bring the food and beer, and you get the grill ready. I love you Dak and you better say hi to me once in a while. Remember what you promised me when we had our talk. I'm holding you to it. "22"

To Momma Krause, Daddy Krause and My Beanie (Eileen),
You are my second family and I send my deepest regards to you. I wrote a poem to Dak and posted it on the page that Eileen and I made for him.
"A Portrait for Dak" by Wendy Yee 8/23/07
A picture paints a thousand words, but no picture can paint my pain,
My world has turned upside down, and never will be the same.
The brush strokes are no longer fine, but jagged with a shakey hand,
As I wait to see you everyday, in the one place I love, called my dreamland.
The canvas is yellow, brillant and very bright,
Like the stars that I wish on, wish on every night.
My hand dips the brush into the red paint-making swerves,
As the brush joins together making a heart as I finish with the curves.
I draw a shadow of a star, inside the beautiful heart,
As Dak you are my shining star, where death still can't keep us apart.

To Dak's mom, dad, and sister,
I'm so saddened and shocked by the loss of Dak. Dak's megawatt smile is forever etched in my memory - from the time I first saw him as a bashful kid to, actually, every time I saw him. My sister Lis first introduced me to Dak upon a visit to the Garcia house. She always spoke fondly of Dak the kid and as he grew up. That smile - even in the hospital he had that smile. Good natured, kind hearted, congenial, spirited, and thoughtful - are qualities by which I will always remember him.
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
With sympathy and love,
Vicki
