Daniel Cheadle Obituary

Daniel Lewis Cheadle, Jr. 11/04/1964 - 5/15/2008 At 43, Danny lived an exceptional life. Motivated by his deep love for his family he fought valiantly against a rare cancer for nearly 2 years before passing peacefully at home with his wife and daughters by his side gently caring for him. Danny loved life and had a strong desire to live so that he would be there for his little girls, to help them as they grew up, to attend their graduations, to walk them down the isle, to enjoy life with his future grandchildren and to grow old with his wife and dearest companion, Anna. Danny shared a wonderful life with his wife and their lovely daughters, Stephanie, Natalie and Emily, all of whom survive Danny. His love for his beautiful wife and young daughters was boundless and remains undiminished. He appreciated Anna for an uncommon love that strengthened him, and for bravely sharing his battle alongside him. He asked only that his daughters try their best, to laugh always, and love life to its fullest. He is also survived on Anna's side of the family by her mother Maria, sisters Marta and Maria, brothers Jose, Joe, Hector and John and their families, including their spouses and Danny's 14 nieces and nephews, all whom Danny loved. Born in Modesto to Dan Cheadle, Sr. and Linda Cheadle, Danny was raised in Northern California, in primarily Modesto, San Jose and Anderson. He graduated from Anderson Union High School in 1982. He excelled in football, earning honors in Northern California and nationally, and attended college on a football scholarship. He subsequently earned a Bachelor's degree in 1987, and a Master's degree with honors in 1992, both in Industrial Studies from San Jose State University. He leaves behind a successful career as Vice President and General Manager at Teledyne Cougar, Inc., in Sunnyvale, and the 156 employees who continue to support commerce, though they greatly miss his leadership, dedication and humor. He helped his father build Cougar and devoted over 20 years to growing the company into a leader in the aerospace and defense electronics industry. Danny was always guided by a deep gratitude for those he loved in his life. He is survived by his mother, Linda, and wished to thank her for her unconditional love; the greatest gift a boy can have as he grows into a man. He also wished to thank his father for his love, friendship and the opportunities he provided. He is survived by his father, Dan and his wife, Nancy and their two sons, Christopher and Michael. Danny's brothers, Shawn and Jason, were his pillars in all walks of life. Danny, too, was always a pillar in his brothers' lives. The brotherhood they shared was rare and remains everlasting. He was "Bea" to his brothers, and he trusts in their strength to help this entire family thrive in life. He is survived by Shawn and his wife, Lora, and Danny's nephews Connor and Cody, who called him "Uncle Bea". He is also survived by Jason and his wife, Jennifer. Danny held a special place in his heart for everyone in his family, he loved them dearly. Danny wished to thank Fr. Brendan from Holy Spirit Church for his friendship, love and the support he gave him and his family. Danny always looked forward to mass on Sundays where he found renewed strength and healing. His gratitude for support and guidance is eternal. For information on where donations can be made, please send an e-mail to [email protected]. At Los Gatos Memorial Park Danny was laid to rest. A beautiful and memorable service was held on May 20th. Danny touched so many lives and he will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew him. He left behind a beautiful legacy, which remains alive through his daughters, family and friends. We will forever treasure the love, laughter, and wonderful life he shared.

Although we are not part of each other's lives now, we were in a time past and Danny was an incredible force in it. Vibrant, funny, and larger than life, Danny made a difference in our lives and even though we haven't seen him in many years, it is hard to believe that he is gone from this world. Our condolences to his family - Dan Sr., Linda, Nancy, Jason, Anna and especially Shawn - we understand what bravery and courage you must draw on at this time and know you will find it no matter how deep the heartbreak.
Love, Ande Samson and John Clapp.

I heard the news about Danny and I can't find the words to express how this has impacted Ben and I. Danny was so full of life and one of the most charismatic people I have ever known. We feel blessed to have known Danny and will cherish those memories always. May your memories of him bring you comfort. Our thoughts are with you.

My heart hurts to know the world has lost Dan (I never could call such a huge guy "Danny") and for the pain I know his family is experiencing. I never saw Dan without a smile and that is how I'll always remember him - laughing loudly with a huge smile. I fully believe God takes His most special ones early.

To his brother, Shawn: if you're reading this, I am so sorry for your loss. I can't express how sad it makes me to know you're suffering. I wish you many great memories of Dan, love, and strength as you go on with Lora and the boys. I know they'll take great care of you. Please feel free to contact me if you need an old friend.
