Resident of San Jose
Doris Faye Tipton passed away on Wednesday June 8 surrounded by her family at Kaiser Permanente. Doris touched so many lives with her grace and positivity.
Doris was born in Gilmer, Texas. Her daddy Troy W. Willingham moved his family to Blythe, Ca and then Hollister at a young age. She attended Hollister High School where she met and married her high school sweetheart Leroy. They lived in San Diego, before settling down in San Jose. Doris attended Evergreen Valley College to study nursing while working full-time as a Medical Assistant at Kaiser where she retired after 35 years of service. Doris had three sons, Michael was killed at age 20 in 1979.
Doris is survived by her son's Dennis & Brian & daughter in-law Janine, grandchildren Daniel, Joseph, Jessica, Rubin, Kelle and great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Icis, Acen, and Piper and siblings Charles, Betty & Lavina. We will deeply miss her kind, loving spirit.
Family and Friends are invited to a memorial service on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 2:00PM at Gateway Church, 5883 Eden Park Pl, San Jose, CA 95138, with a reception following at Matthew Susanj Youth Center, 1088 Blossom Hill Rd, San Jose, CA 95123. The family is asking that all that attend wear pink or bright colors in celebration of Doris' life.

Doris - you were one of my favorite people growing up. I thought of you as my Aunt and your 3 boys as my cousins as did my 3 siblings, although David and Dennis were more like brothers. I truely missed you through the years since we last saw one another. My condolences to the rest of your family.
