On May 12, Therese Krassowski, "Tweet" to her friends and family, passed away with family by her side at her home in Saratoga. Tweet lived a life full of love for her family and for the beauty around her. An artist by nature and training, Tweet graduated from the Minneapolis Art institute in 1948. Tweet always mastered whatever media she chose, and became renowned for her use of oil, watercolor, and pastel, as well as the art and craft of etchings, pottery, and glaze. She loved to golf, and her magnificent garden brought people out of their way to pass by her home. Tweet was an avid learner of all things, and would read or listen to lessons on history, music, philosophy and poetry. One of her favorite poems was Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening". In her memory, her family offers the following:

Stopping by Tweet's on a Summer Morning

Whose garden green, I think I know,
No longer can she come here though,
She would not mind me stopping here
To watch her flowers bloom and grow.

From mulch and sweat blooms came alive,
She worked this land since '65
For all of us, she made this home
That made a difference in our lives.

An artist's eye and gardener's hand
Created this enchanted land
Pansies, primrose, flowering spires
In stillness at the gate I stand.

She caught God's beauty many ways
In watercolor, chalk, and clays
Her love reflected in her art
Hangs on our walls, lives in our hearts.

So, remember when you walk this street
The artist, mother, friend - our Tweet
Finally resting, finally, sleep
And no more promises to keep.

She is survived by her three sons, Fred (Beth) of Spokane, Tom (Jo-Li) in Beijing, and Dan (Marie) of Los Gatos, as well as loving grandchildren Rob, Carolyn, Laura, and Kate. Tweet was preceded in death by Witold, her loving husband of 53 years. Together they traveled the world including stays in India, Italy, Poland, and Scotland. She will be remembered always by her sister Kitty and brother Fred, and her many nieces and nephews. The family will hold a private celebration of Tweet's life.
