Edward Mullen Obituary

Edward Reeg Mullen Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 2, 2008 with his family by his side. He was born in San Jose on May 21, 1917 to Edward and Edna Reeg Mullen. He had his home in Pebble Beach for the last seven years. Ed attended St. Patrick's, Bellarmine and Santa Clara University. He entered the Merchant Marine during WWII and saw duty in the Pacific. After the war he joined his father in managing the Robertsville Store, an old county landmark. Eventually Ed purchased the store and converted it to a liquor store which was known as R-Ville Liquors, retiring from there in 1979. He enjoyed travel and socializing. His most recent trip was a cruise to Alaska with his grandson Nicholas, which he enjoyed immensely. Preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-nine years Jean O'Day Mullen. He is survived by his sons Curt (Margarete), Clint (Linda), daughter Patrice Chloupek (Graham); six grandchildren, Chris and Craig Mullen, Nicholas and Shannon Chloupek, Kathleen Gerhart (Steve), David Marks; six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Jamie, Daniel, Amanda, Lauren and Paige. Ed was respected and loved by many and will be greatly missed. Private services have been held. Arrangements under the direction of Lima Family Erickson.

Curt, Clint and Patrice.... I have so many wonderful memories growing up next door to you on Richland Ave. Your Dad was a good man with a great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayer are with you. Love Noel

I remember the circa 1940 Ford pickup that Clint and Curt backed up and down the driveway before they were 16!! Ed was always calm and kind. A terrific person!
