Eugene Marshack Obituary

Eugene Marshack
June 11, 1949 - March 4, 2021
Resident of San Jose
Eugene "Edgie" Marshack, 71, of San Jose, passed away on Thursday, March 4th after a long bout with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He grew up in Great Neck, NY and earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University. His career drew him to San Jose in 1978 where he then spent most of his career with Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale and from whom he retired in 2007.
Gene had a very unique view of the world and could always be counted upon to see the humorous side of everything. He believed in the importance of family and helping others, and he was always there for anyone who needed it. He was a volunteer with the California Highway Patrol as well as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and he had been active with his neighborhood HOA.
He loved boating, riding roller coasters, anything computer-related, flying his drones, listening to music and watching vintage movies and TV shows. He is survived by his wife (Nancy), brother (George), sister (Fran), niece (Adrianne and her family), nephew (Jared and his family) and step-daughter (Amanda).
Due to the COVID pandemic, no formal services are planned at this time. However, a celebration of life by close family and friends will be planned for a future date.

Hello - You all have my deepest sympathy. I knew Edgie in high school spending time with him and our group of friends in the neighborhood. Edgie was someone we could always count on to make us smile. He would find the light and humorous aspects of almost any situation. I remember him now with fondness and appreciation and I am missing the delight of him.
I wish you comfort in these difficult days.
Sincerely, Ziona Brotleit
