Gary Eugene Ange passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Monday after a brief battle with cancer. Gary was born in Fort Scott, Kansas, graduated from Kansas State College of Pittsburg and moved to San Jose, California in 1959. He served in the United States Army, Armor Division. He worked at Breuner's in Campbell and Western Appliance in San Jose and Gilroy until his retirement in 2001. Gary was much loved and respected by family and friends for his dry humor and wit and his zest for living. Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Beverly, and his sons, Greg (Lisa) and Jeff (Shelby), his daughter, Julie Carreiro, and his grandchildren, Cade, Julia, and Jenna, also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Ange and his son-in-law, Jim Carreiro.
Memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of San Jose, 1980 Hamilton Avenue, San Jose, California 95125, on August 22, 2015 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.

I first met Gary in Jr. High School. I found his wit, his sense of humor infectious. I also found his observations very intelligent. One had to pay close attention. He enriched my life just being around him.

Beverly and Family: My heart goes out to you. I was shocked when I learned the news. I first met Gary when we attended Jr. High together. He was a joy to be around. We visited together 10 years ago at our 50th class reunion. It was such a pleasure to see him. May God grant you peace.

He will be greatly missed by all. We all have great memories of him and will always cherish them. He always made us laugh with his great stories and his humor. Thinking of you all often sorry could not be there for the services. All our love from your family in Kansas.
