Gary Trawick Obituary

Gary Trawick
Feb. 2, 1943 - Jan. 22, 2015
Santa Clara
Gary Trawick passed away due to heart disease in the comfort of his home and in the arms of his wife of 43 years, Shirley.
Gary served in the United States Army from 1960-64 and enjoyed a 39-year career with Pacific Bell.
Known to many as "Coach T," Gary leaves behind a legacy as a beloved football and baseball coach, having devoted a combined 41 years to coaching local teams. A dedicated mentor, Gary inspired and touched the lives of countless athletes.
From the joys in his life, through to his medical setbacks, his will, belief and strength remained seemingly indomitable. Gary was always ready to make the most of a situation and enjoy the day with a happy-go-lucky attitude and an infectious laugh.
Counted among the things he loved are family vacations, his dogs, a good movie, and his family, who always looked forward to Gary's spontaneous dances (most often to the tune of oldies such as "Woolly Bully").
He is survived by his wife; sons: Tony, Danny, David and Michael; grandchildren: Marcus, Taylor and Sophia; cherished cousins, in-laws and nieces and nephews who dearly loved their "Uncle Banana Nose."
There will be a graveside burial service at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:30pm. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association.

I was shocked and saddened when I saw Gary's name in the list of retiree's passing's on an AT&T website. I knew Gary from our time at Pacific Bell and with SC Lions football. Rest easy, brother.

Shirley and boys - I am so saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I have fond memories of the whole family and I will miss calling out of the blue to catch up on life. I will regret not calling for quite some time. My heart goes out to each of you during this most difficult time. Sending love, hugs and prayers of comfort. RIP dear Gary. God bless.

Above and beyond being a great family guy, husband, father, and grand father, you always had a smile and good things to say..
I remember when we both coached the little guys in football and competed against each other. You could of at least let me win one game!
May you be in the arms of our lord.
With Love
