Gloria Ann Lira

1940 - 2023

Gloria Lira joined God and the love of her life Augie in her final resting place on July 17, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Born in San Jose in 1940 she was the oldest of 4 girls. Gloria is survived by her children, Lisa Lira, Steven Lira (Alisa Lira), Valerie Wilson (David Wilson), Michelle Armenta (Marcos Armenta) and her grandchildren, Andrew and Serena Wilson, Madison, and Samantha Lira. Gloria is also survived by her sisters Anita Schwartz (brother-in-law Ron Schwartz), Martha Rodriguez (brother-in-law Val Wilson) and many nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, camping, boating, and relaxing at her cabin in Arnold. Her daily routine included reading the Mercury News cover to cover. She took a special interest in the obituary section, and often joked about the day she would be included. Mass for Gloria will be held on August 9th at 11:00am, St Victor Catholic Church, 3180 Sierra Road San Jose, with a reception to follow.
