Jack Shackleton Aug. 28, 1928 ~ Apr. 29, 2014 Resident of San Mateo, HMB, Hayward Jack was a proud member of the Air-force during the Korean War. He graduated from Bellarmine in 1946 and earned a Bachelor's degree at San Francisco State. Jack had a 30 year career teaching English, beginning at San Mateo High and finishing at Aragon, where he impacted thousands of students. As well as teaching, he enjoyed being the head timer for Aragon's football and basketball games for many years, even after his retirement. Jack was adored and survived by his 3 daughters, Monica, Merilee and Melissa (3M Corp); their Mother, Linda; his son-in-law John; his 8 grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, Dallas, Dakota, Kyle, Sammi, Nikki and Dante; 3 great grand daughters; Cousin Tom; as well as nieces and nephews and a bevy of friends. As a lover of the English language, he enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and was an avid punster. His love for the coast was matched only by his love for his family and for food. A Memorial Service will be held at Sneider, Sullivan & O'Connell's on Monday May 5, 2014 at 11:00 am, immediately followed by a reception at the Elk's Lodge.
