Jewel Traina, sister, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away June 28, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old.
She will be remembered as a woman who loved her family above all else. Throughout her life, she selflessly cared for the people around her - her husband, Tony, and their children and her extended family as well; she was always there for others.
Cooking was one of her greatest gifts to the people she loved. She masterfully prepared large meals for holiday gatherings to her family's delight. Those who knew her well will miss her quiet spirit and sense of humor.
Jewel was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Tony Traina. They survived hard times during the Depression and made difficult sacrifices during World War II. They built a beautiful life together and settled in Campbell, California.
Also preceding her in death are her siblings Ben, Gloria, Ray, and his wife Maxine.
Surviving her are her two children: Gary and his wife Margie, and Jeannie and her husband Jeff; her grandchildren and their spouses: Kathy and Jim, Julie, Michelle and Scott, and Jennifer and Jed; great-grandchildren: Aaron, Joshua, Jeremy, Sheree, Kristina, McKayla, Jayson and his wife Kathleen, Christina, Thomas, Shelby, Mariana, Miah and Zoey; and great, great-grandchildren: Jacob, Stella, and Anabella. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Carole and June.
Services: Viewing: 7-9pm, Thursday, July 10. Memorial Services: 10:00am, Friday, July 11, Darling Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 North Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos. Interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Rd, San Jose.
