Mr Lew was a wonderful teacher, my son blossomed when he had him as a teacher at Jackson Elementary. They always talked about the SJ Sharks, thru the years, he always remembered our family by name. He was an amazing person and teacher and I thank him for all the guidance he had bestowed. He will be missed.

to Loren's family,
I was surprised & saddened to read of Loren's passing. He was so young! Since we grew up around the corner from each other,we used to always hangout together over at the Green, when we weren't in school! He was always a very cool & caring person. So glad to see that he left a large, positive mark on the world by doing what he loved to do. Seems a little bit of his loving spirit is left with each one of his students. To his daughters: my sons also lost their Dad a few years back and I'm so sorry you are feeling the loss of your Father. I can tell you from experience - Dad's have a way of guiding you & sending their love. Trust your intuition, your gut feeling in situations. Assuredly, he'll be watching over you.

Mr. Lew was an awesome teacher. He had so much energy and passion for teaching that he actually made learning a fun experience. We all listened and respected him. My older sister Megan was taught by him at P.A Walsh and myself and my younger brother Garrett were taught by him at Jackson. I remember running to Baja for math, and seeing how many licks it took to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop. And the thing we looked forward to most was always his stories. He would tell us about his high school days jumping off of cliffs, and even about his dogs (better phrased as dope on a rope) my Dad still calls our dog that. He was a great teacher and a good man and my heart goes out to his family.

I never had Mr. Lew as a teacher, however I went to Walsh all my years of Elementary school and always saw what a great teacher/individual he was. We would be in our class next door, and we would hear his class having so much fun with all of his learning techniques next door. Once in a while we would join his class and he always kept things entertaining, but got the lesson across. He will be missed dearly. He lives on through so many students, and even in those that didn't have him as a teacher (like myself). It was an honor knowing you Mr. Lew.

I was so lucky to have worked with mr. Lew and be a parent to one of his students. He had the ability to make learning seem like fun. He was generous with his time, money and attention. I will miss him greatly.

Dearest Lewandowski Family all~ Todays
's Memorial service was wonderful, heartworming, & endearing to hear others speak of your brother, uncle, father....he left us all too early, and will be sorely missed at our holiday gatherings, and family reunions. The fish of the seas, lakes and rivers trembled when he was near, in his honor we will try to continue this legacy he left behind. Fish on dear Loren.<3 Beth, Steve, Gracie & Andrew Egelhofer

Our family is so saddened by your loss. My twin daughters went to Jackson, and in 5th grade, we were grateful to have the " Mr. Lew and Mr. Lack" team. Mr. Lew encouraged them to have bit parts in the Live Oak theatrical production of " The Wizard of Oz", sharing his love of theater with his students.
Loren will be a fond part of our lives forever. May he rest in peace.
With love, the King Family.

We were very sad to hear of your passing. We enjoyed the drama productions that you were involved with at Live Oak -- especially in 2009 when the theatre was not ready yet and you all made do at El Toro. You will be greatly missed. Prayers of Peace to your family, students and friends.
