Luciano Iacomini Obituary

Luciano Iacomini
Feb. 6, 1936 - May 6, 2022
Monte Sereno
Luciano (Lou) Iacomini was born to Mario and Elena Iacomini February 6, 1936 in Tagliacozzo, Italy, a province of Abruzzo.
He was born into humble beginnings but his family was rich in love. He grew up during World War II. Germany had occupied Italy, and although growing up at that time in Italy was difficult, he still cherished his childhood: friends, playing soccer and his tightknit family.
When Luciano was 17 years old, he, his brother Wilman, and his mother made the 12 day trip by ship from Italy to the United States in search of a better life. He lived in New York for two years where he worked construction during the day and in factories at night. After a year of saving they were able to move the rest of their family to the United States. After two years of living in New York he moved to Campbell, California where he started his legacy. Luciano got a job working construction. Through grit and determination he quickly moved up the ranks from laborer to carpenter, and then to foreman. In 1966 he took the leap of faith and got his contractors license. Luciano built many homes throughout the Bay Area.
In 1960 he met the love of his life, Ersilia Gallo and they married in 1963. They built a life together in Willow Glen and then Monte Sereno, California. They had three children Luciano Vincent Iacomini, Daniela Iacomini, and Vincenzo Mario Iacomini. In June the couple was to celebrate 59 years of marriage.
Luciano loved family deeply. Not only his wife and children but everyone he met usually became family. He was extremely generous and donated his time and funds to countless charities and individuals.
Luciano had a passion for making homemade wine and for playing and watching soccer. His prize possessions were his wine cellar and his childhood dream of owning his 1983 Ferrari.
Luciano was an incredible man, he inspired so many by achieving the true American dream. He not only was successful financially but was rich in love and family.
He will be greatly missed by the countless lives he touched over the last 86 years. In 2014 Luciano was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He battled the disease for eight years but it eventually was the reason he left us. He is survived by his wife Ersilia, son Vincenzo, daughter in-law Tiffany, and two grandchildren; Mia Daniela and Vincenzo Martin Iacomini, as well as his 4 siblings; Wilman, Alba, Rosanna, and Iris.
In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation : www.parkinson.org/
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 17th from 5pm to 7pm at Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills, followed by a 10am visitation and mass on Wednesday, May 18th at St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A 12:30pm funeral service at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery will follow. All are welcome to attend.
