Paul Lisick Obituary

Paul John Lisick
April 29, 1966 - May 11, 2015
Resident of San Jose
Paul John Lisick passed away on May 11, 2015 at his home in San Jose. He was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 29, 1966, the first son of Ronald Paul Lisick and Anne Lisick. Paul graduated from Saratoga High School before taking a degree in Political Science from The University of California at Santa Barbara. After several years working for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Guam, Seattle and Oakland, Paul held accounting positions at a number of firms in the Bay Area. He was heavily involved in volunteer work throughout his life including Sacred Heart Community Services, Children's International and the San Jose Chapter of Loaves and Fishes Family Kitchen where he was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2003. In his charitable work, and in his daily life, both friends and strangers were struck by his gentle kindness and quiet empathy for others. In his free time, Paul enjoyed attending San Jose Earthquakes and Giants games and amazing his friends and family with his esoteric knowledge of long-forgotten radio stars and savant-like gift for numbers. He was a loving and involved uncle to his nephews, Gus Crews and Theo Lisick, and his niece, Phoebe Lisick. Paul was also a warm and thoughtful brother-in-law to Eli Crews and Lora Schulson. He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Anne Lisick of Saratoga, his brother, Chris Lisick of Brooklyn, New York and his sister, Beth Lisick, also of Brooklyn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 1:00pm at Sacred Heart Church, 13716 Saratoga Avenue in Saratoga. A reception will follow at the Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Paul John Lisick to Sacred Heart Community Services.

Ron & Anne ~ So very sorry to learn of your son's death. It must be so terribly hard for both of you. Know that the SHS group has now been told (Janet Googled you, since we can't reach you by email) and has told us all.
You have a birthday coming up soon, so accept our wishes for a happier year.

I was so sad to hear of Paul's passing. He was a kind, generous friend to me, and yes I always enjoyed his pulling esoteric numbers and dates out of a hat! He figured out that I was a Sunday's child within about 2 seconds of me giving him my birthdate. I will miss him.
