It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph Lane Shannon on December 17th, 2015. Born October 26, 1940 in Stratford California. He is survived by his daughter Shawna Castillo, son-in-law Carlos Castillo, granddaughter Grace Castillo, longtime companion Dianne Martino, brothers Wayne Shannon, Randy Shannon, sisters Paula Baker, Joyce, Brenda French, Diana Beechie.
Ralph was an excellent woodworker and took extreme pride in all of his projects. He had a love of sailing and spent many years working on his sailboat. Ralph was a very caring man and was always available to help family, friends, and neighbors. I am proud to share the name Lane with my father and for my daugher Grace to carry the name Lane and now our grandson is also Lane. Although my father didn't know the youngest of his namesakes he would have been proud to know were are all carrying his name. Ralph was a loving father, grandfather and friend to all.
Words cannot express the respect and gratitude we have for Ralphs longtime companion Dianne. Dianne cared for Ralph on her own for as long as physically capable and when Ralph went into a home Dianne was there two times a day every day to be sure he received all of his meals and the proper care.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11:30 A.M. at the Catholic Church Immaculate Conception, 7290 Airline Highway, Tres Pinos, CA. A reception will immediately follow at The 19th Hole, 7071 Airline Highway, Tres Pinos, CA.
