Dec. 22, 1930 – April 12, 2017
Resident of San Jose
Richard L. Field passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 after suffering a heart attack. He leaves behind a loving family and friends who will miss his generosity and zest for life.
Dick was born in Campbell, CA, graduated from Campbell High School and San Jose State. He then served in the U.S. Army and married the love of his life, Rita A. Marchoke in 1954. He retired in 1990 after 35 years at IBM. He loved woodworking, sports, travel, jazz, gardening and Santa Cruz, Lake Tahoe and Carmel.
He is survived by his children, Kathy Blackburn Sidbury (Dan) of Dublin; Kerry Lewis (Dave) of Santa Clara; John Field (Carolyn) of Campbell; and Dave Field (Vicki) of Seattle, WA, 8 grandchildren and his sister, Roberta Josephine Betcher of Modesto, CA.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Darling-Fischer Memorial Chapel at 231 E. Campbell Avenue at 10:45 a.m.
