Robert Lawson Obituary

Robert E. Lawson
Nov. 19, 1930-Oct. 7, 2021
Sunnyvale
Robert E. Lawson (Bob) grew up in Detroit and attended the University of Michigan for undergraduate studies. He served in the U.S Army from 1952-54 achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Using the GI bill, he returned to U. of M. Law School, graduating in 1957. For fifty years, he had a well-known law practice in Sunnyvale. He was a lifelong Democrat, a community servant, a lover and supporter of the arts, and an incredible family man. The impact of his exceptional service in the city of Sunnyvale spanned countless causes over six decades and leaves an irreplaceable legacy. He especially loved the enjoyment he gave to his friends who received his silk screened greeting cards. His quick wit and humor, kindness, and loving nature live on in his wife Margaret Waddell Lawson; their three daughters, Cynthia (Steve) Berglund, Audrey (Ron) Augustinsky, and Misa Lawson; their six grandchildren, two grandchildren-in-law, and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on November 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm (doors open at 12:30 with a slide show of Bob's cards). Please wear a mask and be prepared to show proof of vaccination. The celebration will also be on Zoom. Contact Margaret at [email protected] for location information or the zoom link.
Donations in Bob's name can be made to the Sunnyvale Rotary Foundation at 510 S. Mathilda #6, Sunnyvale, CA. 94086 or the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sunnyvale at P.O. Box 2398, Sunnyvale, CA. 94087.
