Dear Barbara and Family, I am so sorry to hear about loss. I have not seen Gene since the 70's. I found out about his passing on Classmates. I used to live next door to him and his whole family in the early 60's. I have very fond memories of the whole family. Please know I will keep you all in my prayers.

Mr. Owens had a huge impact in the man I am today. He showed me how to act like a real man. Taught me how to treat people with respect, and class, and he lead by example. Mr. Owens always treated our family like family and for that I will always be grateful. On behalf of the entire Steadman/Kelley family we offer our deepest condolences to the Owens family. His impact on the youth in the community will long last his legacy. Michael R. Steadman

Barbara and Rob, I had the privilidge of knowing and working with Roy off and on for some 23 years. In the professional environment I could count on Roy to take the calls and to get the job done right and as quickly as possible. One of his co-horts in crime was Dennis Blakley, someone I call a Friend as well.

Rob, I know how you feel with the loss of Roy. I lost my father some 14 years ago and it took me almost four years to adjust to it and to accept it. As you heard at the service your dad was the consumate Man. He was direct and to the point but you could always count on him. I hope your able to reconcile his passing much quicker than I did. Roy left a legacy of love and respect. Take that in and rejoice in it, he was real and he loved you more than you will ever know. You do not know me and I live some ways away but I remain willing to assist you with your adjustments to his passing any way I can. If you need anything you can contact me through Dennis or Charlie Eaves. I remain in contact with them routinely. In closing I wish you and the entire family God's peace and love. God bless you all - Ken Overton

We remember Gene from Little League. The boys used to run around with our son, Brian. Gene also coached Brian in said league. Although we haven't seen Gene in a long time, we are sorry for his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. One of the good guys!

My Dearest Gene,
You have forever left footprints on my heart. Thank you for being a mentor to me and my little sister Sharon. All the camping trips, stories by the fire and teaching me how to water ski and fish. It's a life experience you gave to me that I have passed on to my own children. I wish we would of stayed in contact but you are forever in my heart. See you on the other side my dear kind man. He was there when we needed him on storm damage. We would be dead in the water and Roy would show up with a smile hot coffee and usually the part needed on his truck. Im sure he must have been overweight on his truck carrying all those extra parts. He was a great friend. I considered him as a brother and could always unload on him. He will be missed by all of his PG&E family.A fierce warrior till the end. Many of us knew him a M/F. REST IN PEACE.

Hello Roy Owens Family,

So sorry to hear of your loss. Just received an email from someone in your family about the funeral services. So shocked but now know why I haven't received any jokes or stories from him lately. I am an old neighborhood friend and school pal since 1st grade. Have not seen him since graduation from high school and lost contact over the years. We connected on Classmates and it was great. He spoke of his wife and kids and how long he had been married. That is so great.
He was a great kid growing up. Always so polite and shy even as a 10 year old kid. He was one of the nicest people I ever knew. I'm sure he will be missed by all his family and friends. Please accept my condolences on your loss. He is with the angels now.
