Rudolf Gorzolla Obituary
July 31, 1922 - March 30, 2022
Resident of San Jose
Rev. Rudolf Gorzolla passed away peacefully with family by his bedside. He was born in Ratibor, Germany and after the war emigrated to Venezuela to start a new life.
The hardships he faced during the war led him to seek a deeper meaning to life. He was a member of the Rosicrucians and settled in San Jose in the early 50's where he met his soon-to-be wife, Liz. He found his calling as a minister, first in the Spiritualist church, then as the chief of the English mission for the Truth of Life center (Seicho-No-Ie). He retired in the late 90's due to health reasons, but he never tired of counseling others. His travels took him to many countries, but he was happiest in his home in the Rose Garden area.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Liz, sister Therese Graf-Reedy of San Jose; siblings Heidl, Hilde, Walter, Georg and Anton of Germany. He is survived by his loving son, York, daughter-in-law Iris, numerous nieces and nephews, and compadre Adrian Arguello.
The family extends their gratitude to the hospice team at Vitas Healthcare and all caregivers dedicated to his care.
A private service will be held. In lieu of koden, please donate to Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.
