Sarah M. Flores

Went to be with God on May 23 in Santa Clara with her family at her side. She was born Sarah M. Prado in Omaha, Nebraska on January 20, 1932. A single mom with four small children, she moved to San Jose, California in 1957 to begin a "new life." She married Ray G. Flores in 1959 and with him shared two additional children and 47 years of marriage. She worked proudly for 29 years as a Certified Teacher's Aide. Loving mother of Debbie Lopez, Nick Lopez, the late Cathy Garza, Clara Daniel, Marina Flores and Adam Flores. Loving grandmother of Maria, Sara, Simon Jr., Nick Jr., Brendan, Christina, Sabrina, Garland Jr. and Melissa. Loving great-grandmother of eleven. Loving sister of Micky, Chona, Judy, John, Lou and George. A beautiful woman and strong-willed soul, she touched the lives of us all. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley, 2530 Lafayette St., Santa Clara, CA., 95050, 408-727-3383. Visitation Thursday, May 31 from 5 pm to 9 pm with a vigil at 7 pm at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. A mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, June 1 at 11 am at St. Martin of Tours Church, 200 O'Conner Drive, San Jose, CA. Interment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
